Trip reports
2 - GOOD on 08/05/2009
Pomperaug was a bit high from Rain.started at Poverty Hill Ballfields and huffed it to below Flood Bridge Rd. Nice deep pools . Neede some splitshot to get down . Good action usin a 16 green flashback prince nymph. Dry flies are 18-20 Black Caddis. Was stocked well early with Tiger Trout . Most are gone . Nice Browns from 12-16 inches remain with good sized Rainbows and small brookies which will fight like hell!

"As a kid, I used to fly fish the Pomperaug in the 1930s-40s. In the 1970s it became badly polluted and killed off most species. It was a disaster.

What is the condition of the Pomperagu today?

thanks,
George"
