Descriptions

1. The East Fork is the most popular fork of the Black. The upper reaches are pristine fly fishing water. Fly anglers will find riffles and pools, and plenty of rocks.

"Az Fish and Game has all but ruined the "7 Miles" of "fishable" steam by insisting on stocking Apache Trout. They don't move up and down in the river and only school in pools where stocked. Anglers must wait their turn to fish selected stocking spots and terrain is being destroyed by vehicle traffic. German Brown population is being depleated by anglers fishing along stream where Rainbows used to hide. River is overrun with crawdads. Fish and Game should stock Rainbows and limit the no. of Browns included in Creel limits. Browns eat crawdads and reproduce naturally in river. Rainbows move freely up and down throughout the river and keep the entire 7 miles "fishable". Apache Trout don't. They are a failure in this stream. "
