Sweet time of year, flows are up but not muddy yet. A little off color is good, we can fish heavirer leaders.

Gotta say it is getting better.

Water is a bit off color, but that is to our advantage. Overcast cond. are fishing best, bright sun is tougher.

Late last week was beautiful and very fishy. Just before this storm arrived, the door seemed to slam shut. Close to two feet of fresh snow dumped, with more on the way. Access is the big concern.

The fish are not in a frenzy, but they still eat. Be patient, be thorough, and bring anti-freeze paste or Pam.
A nice Trico 24-26 hatch is happening on the upper river. Sippers under ice shelving on stream edges.

Bugs are small, water is very clear, so be sneaky and make multiple drifts.

Low and slow water, means you have to bring your "A game". The LT is beautiful. Think small and dark nymphs.
Useing 5x subsurface, or even 6x for a dry. 6+ inches on the ground and tee shirt weather mid-day.

Flows dropped out of Boca. Water is clear and low.
Still great fishing, but it is time to get sneaky. Keeping a low profile on the water is a good idea, as well as using local cover( bushes, rocks etc).
Watch your shadow, and wade quietly.

Keep moving, and cover water.
Look for spots that are ether tough to fish, or overlooked.

The begining of fall seems to be starting early. Saw an adult October Caddis yesterday. Sacrifised a pupa I found and it was going to pop very soon. Browns seem to be moving about more. Stay tuned!

Lower river is cooler and fishing well. Early mornings are beautiful and some activity lasts until 10ish.
Have turned some large fish, but action is still in summer mode.

Man, what a few days and a few clouds will do for the river!
Flows are nice, water temps have fallen, and a few less people, have made this week pretty sick.
Several very large fish on, and a few landed. One made me run 200+ yards.
Can be harder to resusitate them after such a run, giv'em the love!

Temps. are way up. 63 at dawn 68 + at sun down, you can guess when to fish!
If you choose to fish the warmer water,be aware that at 68 it can take longer to resusitate the fish than the time you fought him. Give them a break and fish mornings if you can.
To help them recover faster hold them in a faster foamy current, lots more O2 there.

Flows improving and water clarity is good for fishing. Water temp. is still a little bit chilly, but will steadily improve. Few rises, but nymphing under an indicator can be productive. Fish softer seams, near fast riffles.

Water clarity is pretty good for these flows. Fish are spread out because of the volume. Cover lots of water to improve your luck! Fish soft seams adjacent to fast runs. Bumping larger bugs along the bottom is a good bet. Enjoy!

Beatis hatches late morning and early afternoon are bringing fish to the top. Some light PMD hatches. I would reccomend trailing a BWO 16 or 18, with an even smaller beatis nymph w/o a bead.
