Not much new to report these days. Cooler temperatures typically make things difficult on Silver Creek. However, recent day time highs have been consistent in the upper 30's so the midging could be decent. That said, the creek wouldn’t be my first choice this time of year. If it's a short trip, or you happen to be passing through, it may be worth a look.
Fishing is typically hit or miss throughout the winter. If temperatures remain extremely cold, expect things to shut off completely. However if there’s a streak of warmer days (like this week) you’ll likely have fish up on Midges throughout the heat of the day. It's been a mild winter/early spring so far and conditions have been decent.
Regardless, fish are still picky and long, light leaders are an ABSOLUTE must. 12’ to 15’ feet total length is ballpark and we’ve got the best tools for the job. Our TroutHunter (Rene Harrop Series) leaders are becoming a fast favorite among technical anglers.
