Guided Tony and Bruce yesterday on the Pere Marquette river, west of Baldwin, Michigan. It's terrestrial time for the day time fly fisher and we caught both steelhead smolts and brown trout yesterday on hoppers, Madam X's, JB's Bullet Head Crazies in green and orange.
The steelhead smolts were in the 6-8" range, browns a bit larger and did hook 3 very nice browns that threw the hook.
One in particular could have been a "BOB"...Big Ol...Boy.

We are getting into our warmest days of summer here in Michigan and it's at this time that we often chase smallmouth bass on a fly. They are very willing biters, great fighters and a good way to improve your streamer fishing skills.
