The Rocky River, known affectionately by many as the "urban jewel",
provides northeastern Ohio steelheaders with a plethora of access. The
Cleveland Metroparks system owns a great deal of the land surrounding the
river, and provides anglers unrestricted access on their property. The
Rocky River is a medium sized stream, and contains bottom substrates of
shale, mud, and silt. It receives stockings of Little Manistee steelhead
through the ODNR stocking program.
