The North River is a large feeder stream to the Tellico. It is managed
strictly as wild trout water and offers fly anglers wild rainbows and
browns, as well as brookies in the upper reaches. Rainbows are the
dominant species but when fly anglers catch browns they are generally very
good sized. Fly anglers can access the North via North River Road (Forest
Service Road 217) as it parallels the river. Some of the tributaries of
the North have wild brook trout.
