3 - FAIR on 09/30/2010
17 August, 2010 - fly fished confluence of Brush Creek and the Kern River (downstream of Johnsondale) with sinking line and rubber legs nymph. Five strikes and slow reflexes made for a doughnut hole on my score card. Two were very solid, decent fish. Polarized glasses are critical to your success. Spey rod would have helped on this spot. Another guy caught one about 3 lbs the day before on a salmon egg.

The Kern river is a beautiful fly fishing destination that offers
rainbows, goldens, and some big browns. Large rounded boulders fill
stretches of the river and help create deep pools. The river is broken
into Upper and Lower sections.
